GGG40 is a very good material grade from ductile iron, which has good tensile strength and yield strength, and especially higher elongation rate compared with grey iron. The higher grade will mean the lower elongation, so GGG40 has the highest elongation rate in all ductile iron grades. GGG40 is a ductile iron grade of Germany standard, which is equal to QT400, ASTM A536 60-40-18, 60-40-15, FCD400, GS400-12, FGS400-12, 400/17, 420/12, 400-12, 400-18 and SG38, SG40. This material is suitable for many industrial and civil fields. In our foundry, we own AMFⅢ-07L / R and AMFⅢ-08L automatic molding lines, which guarantees products the high efficiency and stable quality. As for the sand castings, there are several molding processes, which include manual molding, machine molding (mechanical molding), automatic machine molding. Automatic molding line usually produces small to medium castings with weights from 0.5kg to 50kg. This line uses green sand as the sand material. What is the advantage of the auto molding line? Firstly, high production efficiency. Secondly, good surface quality and dimensions. However, there are also some disadvantages for the auto molding line. The auto molding line needs metal patterns / molds. The metal patterns usually cost more than patterns for other processing way. Therefore, if the required quantity is small, we do not suggest to adapt auto molding line. Secondly, there's size and weight limitation. Thirdly, since the cooling time is short, there may be some tiny deformation on castings during cooling. Therefore, we should also choose the automatic lines by specific application. At last, the sand cleaning is through the violent vibration. So the strong shake may damage the small buttons on the surface of castings. The castings will also damage each other during sand cleaning period. Means the specific usage of the casting parts is very important for us to choose the proper processing methods. According to experience from our technical team, the automatic molding can not completely replace the traditional manual molding process. These molding processing ways can be a good supplement to each other.
